Between the Sheets

3-dimensional painting made from layers of MDF that were lasercut and then painted. The frame was handmade from ash with a clear acrylic front pane. Designed in Adobe Illustrator, painted and assembled by hand.

Below — An initial model for the painting, with the 'stroke' of the legs turned into its own layer to be lasercut and painted

Below — The final file ready to be lasercut. The blue lines were etched into the top layer to provide a guide for painting, while the red lines were cut completely trough a layer of MDF. This image shows all of the layers stacked on top of each other, they were lasercut individually.
